Alimah Track
Comprehensive Training in Sacred Scholarship
The Alimah Track is a four-year, full-time program in Arabic language and Islamic sciences, forming the first four years of the traditional six-year Alimah program.
The six-year Alimah curriculum is a comprehensive course of female Islamic scholarship, progressing through Arabic language and the Islamic sciences from foundational study to advanced levels. Katiba Collective offers the first four years, after which students may complete the final two years of dawrah and authorisation (ijazah) with Katiba Collective or another recognised institute.
What You Will Study
Arabic Language
Students develop proficiency in reading, writing, comprehension and speaking Arabic, alongside the grammar and language skills required for the study of Islamic texts.
Islamic Sciences
Students undertake a structured study of the major Islamic sciences, progressing in depth throughout the years:
Qur'an, Tafsīr & its principles
Hadīth & its principles
Fiqh & its principles
Aqīdah
Sīrah
And more.
Who Is This Program For?
The Alimah Track is designed for women and older girls who wish to pursue a traditional course of Islamic scholarship.
This is a full-time academic program, not a casual Islamic studies course. Students should be prepared to dedicate themselves to both classroom instruction and extensive independent study.
Applicants should be:
Sincere in their pursuit of sacred knowledge.
Able to commit to a rigorous, long-term course of study.
Prepared to attend classes five days each week.
Willing to dedicate an additional 4-5 hours each day to revision and independent study.
Ready to prioritise their studies and remain committed throughout the four-year program.
Students who are uncertain about the demands of the program will have the opportunity to participate in the November Head Start Week before final enrolment into the 2027 cohort.

Expectations
Students should expect:
20 hours of classroom instruction each week.
20-25 hours of independent study each week.
Regular assessments and examinations.
Memorisation, reading, translation, and written coursework.
A four-year commitment as part of the traditional six-year Alimah curriculum.
2027 Admissions Timeline
August-September 2026 | Applications Open
Applications for the 2027 cohort are now open.
31 September 2026 | Applications Close
Applications close on 31 September 2026. Late applications will not be considered.
October - November 2026 | Entrance Examination, Interviews & Head Start Week
Shortlisted applicants will be invited to:
Sit a pre-entry examination.
Attend an interview (with a female guardian if under 18yrs).
Participate in a one-week Head Start program.
The Head Start Week allows both students and faculty to determine whether the Alimah Track is the right fit.
December 2026 | Final Cohort Selection
Successful applicants will receive an offer to join the 2027 cohort.
February 2027 | Classes Commence
The academic year begins in accordance with the Victorian school calendar.
